Peace Plan of Trump Administration

President Trump unveiled January 28 a peace plan for Middle East, which Premier Netanyehu of Israel ardently appraised as a historic initiative, while the Palestinians got enraged, telling that Jerusalem and the rights of Palestinians cannot be bargained. Peace in the region, however, will retreat farther.

US GOVERNMENT ENFORCES PALESTINIANS TO OBEY

A lengthy document entitled Peace to Prosperity demands Palestinians to admit the Israeli occupation of the territory and status quo in exchange for a possibility of economic benefits.

It justifies annexation of occupied lands

The peace plan of Trump administration says that close to 700 resolutions of the General Assembly of the United Nations and over 100 resolutions of the Security Council have not brought about peace in the region. It is the United States, however, that has advocated Israel who violates the UN mandates. The vision puts fertile land of the Jordan Valley under sovereignty of Israel as a necessity of security for the state and maintains the 140 (or 260) Jewish settlements in the occupied territory, explaining that Jewish or Arabic people will not be uprooted from their homes. It continues that transportation links among the communities are controlled by Israel, and in exchange for that, an alternative land will be allocated in southern Gaza that cannot be used for four years.

Denial of home-return of refugees

The plan says that Palestinian refugees, who count 6 million, do not have the right to return to the Israeli land. It simply describes options: (1) to be absorbed by the State of Palestine, (2) to be incorporated into the current recipient countries, and (3) to be accepted by the members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation which will receive in total 50 thousand people

Capital City of Jerusalem

The plan affirms that all the Holy Sites of Jerusalem are under jurisdiction of relevant administrative authorities, that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and undivided, and that the capital of Palestine is located in East Jerusalem, outside the Separation Barrier, in the name of al Quds or perhaps, whatever name Palestinians decide to call. East Jerusalem does not mean part of an entirety of Jerusalem which Palestinian people demand.

Enforcement to obey

As far as national security is concerned, the plan provides; the Palestinian state shall be totally disarmed, Israel shall be responsible for defense of Palestine, while the Palestinian side shall have troops for policing and anti-terrorist operations. It specifies that when the Palestinian side does not meet criteria of national security, Israel shall be entitled to act inside the Palestinian State, that Israel shall be allowed to have a base of early-warning and to use drones, and that construction projects of Palestinians on the border zones of the two states or boundaries between Jerusalem and al-Quds shall be assessed in favor of Israeli security. The plan does not guarantee equal status of the two nations, forcing Palestinians to be people of a vassal state to serve to heavily-armed Israel.

Plan splits relevant countries

Jordan expressed opposition to the plan. Turkey criticized it as an annexation plan to steal a territory of Palestine. UN Secretary General Guterres emphasizes a solution based on the UN resolutions and international law.

Meanwhile, Egypt appraises the US efforts and suggests resuming dialogue with Israel. Saudi Arabia thanks for the US endeavor. The UAE approves it as an important start. The Arab world is divided.

The Arab supporters precede a policy to tackle with their domestic opposition forces and to cope with Iran. The US president and the Israeli premier elegantly perform, facing their elections. The vision is irresponsible and arrogant enough to lead to futility.
